We're looking for a Software Architect to join a pivotal, expanding team responsible for the entire company's architecture, from their cutting‑edge webshop to critical ERP systems and internal tools. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on a complex, evolving landscape.

Your Mission & Impact

As a Software/Platform Architect, you'll play a crucial role in driving the strategic evolution of the company's technical ecosystem. You'll balance high‑level architectural design with hands‑on development, directly influencing how the company builds and scales its digital products.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Defining and evolving the strategic platform architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across the board.
• Driving software architecture and hands‑on development, getting deep into the code to ensure robust and efficient solutions.
• Enhancing the developer experience by improving toolchains and boosting productivity across engineering teams.
• Facilitating seamless communication between product management, development teams, and other key stakeholders.
• Leading solution design for cross‑functional initiatives, mediating between technical and business requirements.
• Fostering a culture of learning and innovation, constantly exploring new technologies and approaches.

What You'll Bring

We're seeking a blend of strategic thinking and practical expertise. The ideal candidate will have:

• Practical experience with cloud technologies, with a preference for GCP
• A strong understanding and practical application of DevOps practices.
• Proven experience with Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), architectural patterns, and architectural modelling.
• Practical experience in monolith to microservice migration projects would be a bonus.
• Outstanding communication, mediation, and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to de‑escalate situations and foster respectful collaboration.
• Ideally, you've navigated and contributed to large‑scale, complex enterprise environments.

This team is currently five members strong and based in Germany

You’ll have the opportunity to navigate challenges such as the company's rapid transition to product‑led development, enhancing overall system architecture understanding, and ensuring fail‑safe software builds with robust alerting, monitoring, and logging capabilities. Success will be tied to accelerating and enhancing the quality of solution designs, improving software development quality, and ensuring comprehensive infrastructure oversight as the marketplace continues its ambitious growth.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

• Budget Range is 90,000 - 115,000 EUR, depending on experience
• Based in Munich with Hybrid options - 2 days remote/home office flexibility
• Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in German is a definite plus, but not required
