Job summary

Dornan is a leading Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation contractor with projects across Europe and the UK. The Planning Manager will report to the Project Manager and oversee all planning and scheduling activities from start to finish, establish Dornan's project controls procedures, and base operations in Berlin.

The role requires staffing and directing a team of Planners, using Primavera P6 or ASTA PowerProject, and leveraging Excel, Power BI, and Bluebeam to deliver required outputs.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Primavera P6.
• Proven track record in the construction industry in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical systems.
• Data Centre commissioning experience required.
• Strong Excel skills and Power BI advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing and leading a team of Planners.
• Ensuring team is structured and roles & responsibilities are clearly defined.
• Project Planning using Primavera P6 or ASTA PowerProject.
• Using Excel, Power BI & Bluebeam to produce day-to-day deliverables.
• Develop Pre-Construction, Construction and Commissioning Programs as part of the Dornan project team.
• Weekly site walks to verify progress (Openspace 360 camera surveys may be used).

Planning Manager

Dornanare a leading Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation contractor with projects in Ireland, Mainland Europe, the Nordics and the UK.Dornan are involved in projects across many sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Data Centre, Healthcare, Education, Commercial, and Power Generation.You will join a hard-working ambitious team and you will benefit from a supportive culture, where your ideas and contributions will be recognised.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Senior Planner will be responsible for all aspects of Planning and Scheduling on a project including execution of the schedule from commencement to completion of works. In addition, the Senior Planner will be responsible for the establishment & implementation of Dornan's standard Project Controls Procedures & Systems applicable to the project scope, and any client specified planning related deliverables. Role will be based in Berlin.

Your day to day will include

Managing and leading a team of Planners, including graduates

Ensuring team is structured and roles & responsibilities are clearly defined

Project Planning using Primavera P6 or ASTA PowerProject

Using Software like Excel, Power BI & Bluebeam to producing day to day deliverables

Develop Pre-Construction, Construction and Commissioning Program's as part of the Dornan project team.

Ensure Site walks are caried out on a weekly basis to ensure the Senior planner is familiar with the projects progress. This may include Openspace 360 camera surveys capturing site progress

About You

Proficient in Primavera P6

Proven track record in the construction industry in a similar role

Excellent knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical systems

Data Centre Commissioning experience required

Very strong excel skills and Power BI is advantageous however not essential

Strong communicator with the ability to gather information from multidisciplinary teams to manage progress on the project
