Qualifikationen

• Masterabschluss in Chemie, Biochemie oder verwandten Bereichen.
• Erfahrung in Festphasenpeptidsynthese und Peptidcharakterisierung.
• Erfahrung in organischer Synthese, insbesondere mit photokatalytischen Methoden.
• Durchführung enzymbasierter Assays.
• Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse (schriftlich/mündlich).
• Sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse für Lehrzwecke.

Aufgaben

• Design, Synthese und Charakterisierung von Peptidomimetika.
• Ausarbeitung von Projekten mit zunehmender Unabhängigkeit.
• Engmaschige Betreuung, strukturierte Ausbildung und regelmäßiges Feedback.
• Zusammenarbeit mit internationalen Partnern und Betreuung von Studierenden.

Einrichtung: Institute for Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry

The Institute for Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is looking to fill the position of a PhD Student (all genders welcome).

This position should ideally be filled by November 2026 with a contract initially limited to three years. The regular working hours will be 23.88 hours per week, and the salary corresponds to the E13 TV-L (60 %) level. The position is affiliated with the group of Prof. Dr. Tom N. Grossmann (https://www.grossmannlab.com). The lab works in the areas of bioorganic chemistry and chemical biology focusing on the design of modified peptides.

The prospective candidate will perform the design, synthesis and characterization of peptidomimetics. These will be used to modify target proteins which will be investigated using diverse biophysical methods.
