ElsaesserLab at Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany, invites applications for a funded PhD position in Experimental Space Physics and Astrochemistry.
The successful candidate will contribute to the ESA-selected OREOcube and Exocube experiments for the International Space Station (ISS). Research activities focus on radiation–matter interactions, the photochemistry and stability of organic molecules under space and planetary conditions, laboratory irradiation experiments, and advanced UV-Vis and infrared spectroscopy.
The research combines experimental astrochemistry, laboratory simulation of space environments, and space-based investigations of organic molecules relevant to planetary science and astrobiology.
Applicants should hold a Master's degree in physics, physical chemistry, astrochemistry, or a related discipline. Experience in experimental spectroscopy, photochemistry, or radiation–matter interactions is particularly welcome.
