A leading technical university in Munich is seeking a Ph.D. Student / Junior Researcher to engage in cutting-edge empirical research in microeconomics and applied economics. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in economics, demonstrated analytical skills, and excellent English proficiency. Ph.D. Student / Junior Researcher Microeconomics / Applied Economics The Chair Group of Production and Resource Economics at the TUM School of Management and the TUM School of Life Sciences offers a position as a Ph.D. student. The initial appointment will be 2 years with the possibility of extension. Salary is in accordance with the German State Regulated Public Salary Scale (starting at TV-L E13 2/3).
The successful candidate will conduct cutting‑edge empirical research in at least one of the following areas:
The position will include significant involvement in selected nationally and internationally funded projects, such as various EU Horizon projects (e.g., Smart4Welfare, URSOILL) or nationally funded projects. The candidate will receive high quality supervision from the chair’s senior academic staff and may be involved in teaching at undergraduate/postgraduate level as well as funding acquisition and outreach, if desired. International networking and collaborations are regarded as an integral part of the Ph.D. research experience and are explicitly encouraged (e.g. South America, Asia or Africa). The Ph.D. process will be accompanied by integration into TUM’s School of Life Sciences or School of Management and participation in the related Graduate School training programs.
