Bayhealth’s Sussex Campus Hospital in Milford, DE seeks an experienced RN for 5B Progressive Care Unit. The unit emphasizes teamwork, evidence-based nursing, and patient-centered care on 12‑hour night shifts.

It features a 24-bed unit with AACN Silver Beacon recognition and strong governance structures. You will provide direct nursing care, develop care plans, administer medications, and document care while collaborating with physicians and staff to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifikationen

• Associate Degree Nursing or Nursing Diploma required.
• Current RN license and active BLS certification.
• ACLS/PALS may be required per manager’s direction.
• Commit to pursuing specialty certification as discussed.

Aufgaben

• Provide direct, professional nursing care in the acute care setting.
• Develop and implement patient-centered plans of care.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and charting.
• Counsel and educate patients and care partners on treatment plans.
• Administer medications following the five rights of administration.
• Perform wound care and dressing changes as applicable.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes with physician input.
• Document care timely and accurately in the medical record.
• Coordinate care with licensed staff and physicians.

SALARY RANGE:

37.98 - 58.87 HOURLY

General Summary:

5B at the Bayhealth Sussex campus is a 24 bed Progressive Care Unit. The unit is equipped with 5 ICU headboards. This unit participates in Nurse Governance, Nurse Residency and has excellent teamwork and leadership. 5B was recently awarded the AACN Silver level Beacon Award; This prestigious national award recognizes hospital units that demonstrate exceptional patient outcomes, healthy work environment and sustained commitment evidence-based nursing practice. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
• Develops a patient centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of the patient medical record.
• Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans.
• Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
• Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate
• Performs nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
• Demonstrates quality, safe and effective patient care.
• Provides delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff
• Demonstrates standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
• Demonstrates understanding and executes quality and performance improvement plans. (only for RN evaluation)
• Participates in decision making and takes actions based on ethical principles. (only for RN evaluation)
• Provides timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
• All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

• Education:
• Associate Degree Nursing
• Or Nursing Diploma.

• Registered Nurse Basic Life Support
