Jobbeschreibung

We’re building Kickstarting For Good into a scalable, AI-first incubator, and we’re looking for an operations team member who treats every recurring task as a puzzle worth redesigning.

Operations & Automation Associate, Kickstarting For Good
Role Summary

We’re building Kickstarting For Good into a scalable, AI-first incubator for the people transforming the food system, and we’re looking for someone who treats every recurring task as a puzzle worth redesigning.

This is not a “keep the lights on” operations role. It’s an operations role for someone who reads a checklist and immediately asks: “How could a participant own this? Could an AI handle the first draft? Could we delete this step entirely?”

You’ll do the practical work – setting up our Berlin incubator space for in-person weeks, running breakfast logistics, tracking documents, supporting our cohort – and you’ll continuously re-imagine how that work gets done.

You’ll work closely with our Executive Director and our Head of Systems / CTO. You won’t be alone figuring out tools or language, but you will own execution.

Location: Berlin (or within easy commuting distance). Some hybrid flexibility once you’re in role, but you’ll need to be on-site for incubation weeks and team rhythms.
Hours: Full-time preferred. Open to a strong candidate at 80% FTE.
Start date: ASAP
Application deadline: Open until filled
Salary:€35-55k dependent on skills and experience

What we care about most
  • A curious, restless attitude. You see a task done the same way twice and you start asking why. This matters more to us than any specific skill.
  • Sharp, fast communication. Written and verbal, in English. You can summarise, ask clearly, push back politely, and keep a team in the loop without being asked.
  • Comfort with ambiguity. We’re a small organisation rebuilding ourselves into a more scalable one. Some weeks will not have a clear playbook. You’re okay with that.
  • Genuine interest in AI tools and willingness to learn at high speed. We don’t expect you to arrive fluent in a specific stack. Tools change too fast for that to matter. We expect you to learn what you need within weeks and not be afraid of breaking things.
  • Hands‑on willingness. The breakfast still has to happen on day one, even before any automation exists.
  • Alignment with our mission to move the food system toward a healthier, more sustainable, plant‑forward future.
What's also helpful
  • Previous experience in operations, events, hospitality, or coordination roles.
  • Familiarity with Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, or similar tools.
  • Conversational German (useful for local suppliers and venues).
  • A history of having built or tinkered with something on your own – a side project, a process you redesigned, a side hustle, a community group you ran.
  • Interest in nonprofits, startups, or food‑system change.
  • Knowledge or experience of EA (Effective Altruism).
  • Recent graduates with a demonstrable track record of building or improving things are very welcome to apply.
