Major Roles & Responsibilities
- Product Planning & Selection: Collaborate with buyers and category managers to select products based on trends, seasonality, and consumer demand. Analyze sales data and forecast product needs accordingly.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels to ensure optimal product availability and avoid overstocking or stockouts. Coordinate with warehouses and suppliers for timely replenishment.
- Visual Merchandising & Store Layout: Plan and implement product displays according to brand guidelines and planograms. Ensure displays are attractive, clean, and aligned with promotional themes or seasonal campaigns.
- Sales & Performance Analysis: Track product performance, pricing, and promotions to maximize sales. Prepare weekly/monthly sales reports and suggest improvements to boost profitability.
- Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, delivery timelines, and quality issues. Negotiate terms and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
- Market & Competitor Research: Study market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to stay ahead of industry changes. Recommend new products or changes based on research insights.
- Promotional Activities & Campaigns: Assist in planning and executing promotional activities, seasonal sales, and new product launches. Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to align merchandising efforts.
- Compliance & Brand Standards: Ensure all merchandising activities comply with company policies and branding standards. Train store staff on correct display methods and product knowledge, if required.
- Retail Store Visits & Audits: Conduct regular visits to retail outlets to check displays, stock levels, and planogram compliance. Report any issues and follow up on corrective actions.
- Customer Experience Enhancement: Create a visually appealing and organized shopping environment to enhance customer experience. Use feedback to improve merchandising strategies and drive customer satisfaction.
