Job summary

Vestas is seeking an Offshore Shift Lead (m/f/d) for the He Dreiht offshore wind farm to lead an SOV-based team and supervise day-to-day operations on a 14/14 rotation. You will coordinate maintenance, safety, and performance, and work with subcontractors to ensure optimal turbine availability.

The role requires proven offshore leadership in electrical or mechanical systems, strong people skills, and fluent English.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience with electrical or mechanical systems, ideally offshore.
  • Proven expertise in management and supervision, leading by example.
  • Track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Solid IT skills, including MS Office 365, ERP and data processing.
  • English is essential for offshore operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day offshore operations directly from the SOV on a 14/14 rotation.
  • Manage team development through coaching and line management.
  • Oversee maintenance to maximize turbine availability and performance.
  • Ensure safety and compliance, reinforce conduct and HSE excellence.
  • Facilitate team meetings and support strategy deployment.
  • Manage crew interface and contingency planning for smooth SOV ops.
  • Oversee subcontractor activities onboard and ensure performance.

The Vestas Service Offshore organisation is responsible for all activities in relation to the operation and maintenance of offshore windfarms in Northern and Central Europe. We currently have more than 4 GW under service contracts and we are continuously growing our pipeline and organisation.

You will become part of an exciting journey of being the first ones taking care of the newest and biggest generation of Vestas offshore wind turbines, the V236. You will become part of the SOV based team for the He Dreiht wind farm, consisting of 64x V-236 15 MW with a total capacity of 960MW, in the German North Sea.

Your responsibilities – here's where you can get involved!

  • Lead day-to-day offshore operations directly from the Service Operation Vessel (SOV) on a 14/14 rotation schedule
  • Take ownership of team development through effective line management, coaching, and fostering a strong, collaborative culture
  • Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to maximize turbine availability and operational performance
  • Ensure compliance and safety by reinforcing the code of conduct, promoting discipline, and driving HSE excellence through regular turbine inspections, safety walks, and audits
  • Facilitate technical focus meetings, team briefings, and support strategy deployment
  • Manage crew interface and contingency planning to ensure smooth SOV operations
  • Participate in toolbox talks and morning briefings, escalating HSE, performance, and operational issues when necessary
  • Oversee subcontractors activities onboard and ensure effective performance

  • Professional experience with electrical or mechanical systems, ideally gained in the offshore industry or a similar technical environment
  • Proven expertise in management and supervision, with the ability to lead by example
  • A track record of managing and developing efficient, high-performing teams
  • Solid IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365, ERP systems, and data processing
  • English is key in offshore operations, and you have excellent English skills to collaborate effectively
