Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Stocker to keep shelves stocked and the store ready for customers. You’ll stock during daytime hours, organize shelves, and help shoppers locate items. For overnight shifts, you’ll prepare the store for the next day by handling deliveries, stocking, and resetting displays without customer traffic.

This is a physically active role in a fast-paced environment. We value reliability, teamwork, and safety compliance; prior retail or stocking experience is helpful, and you’ll earn

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to operate equipment such as pallet jacks and balers following training and safety guidelines.
• Basic math and communication skills required.
• Availability to work flexible shifts including daytime, evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
• Compliance with company policies including safety, sanitation, and dress standards.
• Prior retail, stocking, or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stock shelves on the sales floor and keep displays organized.
• Assist customers with questions and help locate items in the store.
• Prepare the store for overnight deliveries, stock, and reset displays with no customer traffic.
• Move products from backroom to sales floor, rotate inventory, and keep aisles clear and tidy.
• Follow safety procedures and stocking processes while handling freight and equipment.

Another part of the role is maintaining organization behind the scenes. You’ll move products from the backroom to the sales floor, rotate inventory, and keep aisles clear and easy to shop. Between handling freight, restocking shelves, and keeping work areas clean, the work stays steady making it a good fit for someone who enjoys physical tasks and a fast‑paced environment.

What You Bring To The Table

• Customer Interaction Skills: Clear communication when assisting customers on the sales floor
• Stocking & Merchandising: Placing product accurately on shelves and maintaining display standards
• Product Knowledge: Familiarity with store layout, product locations, and pricing
• Attention to Detail: Accuracy in stocking, rotation, labeling, and removing outdated products
• Organization & Time Management: Managing workload efficiently while maintaining clean, organized areas
• Equipment Use: Operating pallet jacks, box cutters, and store equipment following safety guidelines
• Inventory Awareness: Monitoring stock levels and maintaining backroom organization
• Operational Awareness: Following company policies, safety procedures, and stocking processes
• Adaptability: Comfort working varied shifts, including day, evening, or overnight schedules
• Physical Capability: Comfort with frequent lifting, carrying, and movement, including lifting up to 60 lbs.
