Zusammenfassung

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. in Wiesbaden, Germany, seeks a Network Engineer to design, deploy and maintain SAG-U Mission Partner Network and the organization’s commercial network.

You will plan major routing and switching changes and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN concentrators to ensure high availability at USAREUR-AF. The role requires 5+ years in network engineering, CCNA or equivalent, IAT II, and DoW Secret clearance with German eligibility.

Qualifikationen

GDIT has an exciting opportunity to participate in the Security Assistance Group - Ukraine (SAG-U) as a member of our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program supporting U.S. Army Europe and Africa's (USAREUR-AF) mission in Wiesbaden, Germany. The Network Engineer designs, plans, and builds the SAG-U Mission Partner Network, and hardens and maintains the organization's current commercial network. The position plans and implements major changes to core routing and switching infrastructure as well as major network modifications and expansions. The Network Engineer analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, learns new platforms, and develops and deploys multi‑tenant enabled solutions in support of an operational mission.

  • Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks; designs and builds the hardware and software components of the SAG-U Mission Partner Network and the organization's commercial network.
  • Plans and implements major changes to core routing and switching infrastructure, and major network modifications and expansions.
  • Configures routers, switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems, and VPN concentrators, with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.
  • Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and remote access systems.
  • Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policy, and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
  • Monitors the network using industry leading technologies, and works closely with systems and security teams to define requirements, monitor network traffic, and respond to anomalies or security concerns.
  • Provides Cisco Umbrella Domain Name System (DNS) services.
  • Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance the capability of the network, and develops and deploys multi‑tenant enabled solutions.
  • Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed, including developing designs and initial bills of material (IBOMs), and works closely with vendors to design and implement new systems.
  • Provides technical training, documentation, and technical assistance to Help Desk personnel and other organizations, and coaches and provides guidance to less‑experienced professionals.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology, and maintains, or acquires, the certifications necessary to meet evolving mission needs.
  • Provides support to other network issues that may impact the SAG-U mission, to include modifying and supporting configuration changes.
  • May serve as a team or task lead.
  • May require shift work or coverage during weekends and holidays.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of related network engineering experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience designing and implementing routed networks in multi‑enclave, multi‑vendor environments requiring high availability.
  • Knowledge and experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) design, protocols, profiles, management, and functions.
  • Knowledge and experience with Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC).
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2019.
  • Security Clearance Level: Must possess and maintain a DoW Secret security clearance.
  • Certifications: CCNA or equivalent industry certification.
  • IAT Level II certification or higher to meet DoW 8570 requirements.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to work individually and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Location: On customer site, Wiesbaden, Germany.
  • Must be eligible for German TESA.
  • Physical Requirements: This position may occasionally require some physical activity, including lifting objects, bending, crouching down to troubleshoot equipment, and long periods of sitting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current CCNP Routing and Switching, or CCNP Enterprise.
  • Knowledge and experience with routing, switching, and encryption protocols, for example OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, and MACsec.
  • Knowledge and experience with URL and network filtering and geo‑blocking.
  • Knowledge and experience with VMware.
  • Understanding of ACLs, route maps, and ports and protocols, with the ability to assist cybersecurity personnel and engineers with boundary security implementations on routers and firewalls.
  • Ability to develop complex network diagrams to support cybersecurity teams with accreditation activities.
  • Top Secret security clearance.
  • German TESA requirements: A bachelors degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR; An associates degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.

The likely salary range for this position is $93,662 - $126,500.

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.

Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location.

Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Travel Required: Less than 10%

Telecommuting Options: Onsite Work
