Job summary

Mercor seeks a Drug Discovery Scientist for a remote, contract-based engagement. The role centers on designing AI-driven research problems in drug discovery and building source-grounded data rooms with traceable values.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD or equivalent and will design rigorous problems, verify results, and manage rework independently while delivering high-quality memos and deliverables.

Qualifications

• Working expertise in mechanistic enzymology, structure-guided peptide or antibody design, fragment-based discovery, or structure-based medicinal chemistry.
• PhD or equivalent industry track record.
• Ability to pose a problem whose answer can be defended rigorously.

Compensation: $60–$90/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20–40 hours/week
