Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Germany seeks a skilled Facharbeiter/Mechatroniker to perform repair and maintenance of specialized remote-controlled equipment, including milling and drilling systems, at nuclear facilities worldwide. The role involves commissioning, testing, software installation, and cross-department collaboration.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of relevant experience, strong German language skills (C2) and English at a basic to intermediate level, and basic IT/network

Qualifications

• Min. 5 years of experience in a related role.
• German language at C2 or native level; English B1+.
• Basic computer and network knowledge.
• Willingness to work on-site at nuclear plants worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of specialized remote-controlled equipment.
• Commissioning and testing of newly designed equipment.
• Support of Product/Development Engineers in testing phases of new equipment.
• Installation of software on computers and control units with network setup.
• Operating of specialized equipment on-site in nuclear power plants worldwide.
• Manufacturing or modification of equipment parts (Electrical or mechanical).
• Assembling of equipment.
• Cross-departmental and transnational work.

Responsabilities:

• Repair and maintenance of specialized mostly remote-controlled equipment (Milling, Drilling, Rolling, EDM, Bolting etc.)
• Commissioning and testing of new designed equipment
• Support of Product/Development Engineers in the testing phases of new equipment e.g., parameter development
• Installation of software on computers and control units with the setup of network connections
• Operating of specialized equipment on-site in Nuclear Power plants worldwide
• Manufacturing or modification of equipment parts (Electrical or mechanical)
• Assembling of equipment
• Cross-departmental and transnational work

Experience of successful candidate:

• Experience: Min. 5 years of experience
• Skilled Worker/Technician (Facharbeiter) – Preferred Mechatronics Technician (Mechatroniker) or industrial mechanic (Industriemechaniker), tool maker (Werkzeugmacher), E-Tech (Elektriker) or similar education
• German in speaking and writing (mother tongue or C2-Level)
• English in speaking and writing (min. A2, B1 is preferred)
• Basic knowledge of computers and networks
• Technically gifted
• Problem Solving
• NDE Certifications (VT, UT, PT, ET etc.) is a welcome surplus
• Open communications / teamwork
