Zusammenfassung

sewts is seeking an engineer to design and build industrial robot cells, from early concept to production-ready systems, in a Munich-based team. You will handle motors, conveyors, pneumatics, and robot selection while delivering fast prototypes to test and iterate on ideas.

You will own CAD models, drawings, and data sets, bringing a hands-on, independent approach to create reliable automation solutions that scale across Europe.

Qualifikationen

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 2+ years in product design and development, ideally in robotics or automation.
• Solid CAD skills — Inventor and SolidWorks.
• A hands-on, tinkerer's mindset: you love building machines, tools, and processes that make automation happen.
• A proactive, independent way of working, with real ownership over what you build.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.

Your mission

Robots couldn't handle soft materials. We fixed that.

Now we're scaling it into reality, and we need the sharpest engineering minds: the ones who turn breakthrough ideas into machines that hold up.

At sewts, we build the intelligence that lets robots manipulate deformable materials — textiles, towels, cables — with human-like precision. Our systems are already deployed in production across Europe and expanding into the US.

We are building a foundational technology stack called sewts.JUPITER. JUPITER uses genAI to realistically simulate the behavior of deformable and soft objects, creating the computer vision models and grasping strategies behind our machines. Based on our physical AI, for the first time ever, robots can handle soft and deformable materials. With over €10M in funding, we will bring automation into untapped industries: cloth manufacturing, textiles handling, recycling, and e-commerce.

This is where AI leaves the screen and enters the physical world.

And in the physical world, nothing forgives you.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD

• Industrial robot cells— you design and develop them from early concept to production-ready system.
• The engineering behind the machine: calculations for motors, conveyors, and pneumatics, and the selection of the right robots for the job
• Fast prototypes: turn new ideas into working solutions you can test, break, and improve.
• Engineering data the whole team can rely on: CAD models, drawings, versions. You own it.

Your profile

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 2+ years in product design and development, ideally in robotics or automation.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with electrical or pneumatic design.
• Exposure to PLM tools or CAD version-control practices.
• A background in robotics, automotive, or the textile/laundry industry.
