sewts GmbH in München bietet ein Praktikum im Bereich Automatisierung und Mechatronik. Du arbeitest an der Gestaltung und Entwicklung von Automatisierungsmodule, testest Prozesse und sammelst Daten, um Verbesserungen umzusetzen.

Du vertiefst dein Verständnis von Sensoren, Aktoren, PLCs und CAD-Daten, arbeitest eng im Team und erhältst Einblick in eine internationale, dynamische Startup-Kultur.

Qualifikationen

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics-, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of mechatronics and automation principles.
• Hands-on experience with automation projects and CAD tools.
• English communication; German a plus.

Your mission

At sewts we automate what others can't. Gripping of deformable materials like textiles is a task most humans see as intuitive and simple. However, this is a complicated task for robots as they lack the detailed and contextual understanding of where and with what level of sensitivity to handle these textiles. As deep-tech enthusiasts, we teach industrial robots human perception skills.

We are building a foundational technology stack called sewts.JUPITER. JUPITER uses genAI to simulate realistically the behavior of deformable & soft objects to create corresponding computer vision models and grabbing strategies. Based on our physical AI first time ever robots get enabled to handle soft & deformable materials. With over €10M in funding we will bring automation into all untapped industries, like cloth manufacturing, textiles handling, recycling & e-commerce.

How you will make an impact:

• Assist in the design and development of automation modules, applying mechatronics principles to create efficient and reliable systems;
• Collaborate with the team to test the process and design of the automation systems, collect and analyze data, and propose and execute improvements on the system based on your findings;
• Gain practical knowledge of sensors, actuators, Robotic, PLCs, and other components crucial to automation systems;
• Assist in creating engineering data , Mechanical or Electrical CAD drawings to support the development process;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex automation engineering challenges.

Your profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics-, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field;
• Strong understanding of mechatronics and automation principles, with a passion for robotics and automation technology;
• Hands-on experience with designing and building automation projects, including familiarity with software's like Inventor, E-plan etc.
• Essential knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and their application in automation systems;
• Eagerness to learn and develop new skills, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset;
• Strong communication skills in English (German a huge plus!) and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
