Ubica Robotics GmbH in Bremen is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Hardware Development team. You will shape the mechanical design of our autonomous service robots, focusing on robust sheet metal and plastic components, and you will work with CAD tools to deliver production-ready designs.

You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics, hands-on experience with mobile robots, and knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Qualifikationen

• A completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable field of study.
• Experience in the mechanical development of mobile robots or similarly cost-efficient machines, ideally in an industrial or consumer context.
• Experience with various metal and plastic manufacturing processes.
• Experience with SolidWorks Mechanical or comparable CAD tools.
• A hands-on mentality and a passion for working on diverse tasks in an interdisciplinary team.
• Ideally, good command of English.

Aufgaben

• Mechanical Development & Design: responsible for the conceptual design and detailed mechanical development of robot structures using CAD software.
• Design for Manufacturing: mechanical design of series-production robots, including sheet metal and plastic components and selection of manufacturing processes; specify standards and tolerances.
• Component Testing & Quality Assurance: support inspection of manufactured components to ensure functional and safety requirements for internal and supplier validation.
• Documentation: create and maintain documentation for production, service and maintenance, including drawings, assembly instructions and BOMs.

Your mission

As aMechanical Engineer (m/f/d), you will be an essential part of our Hardware Development team and play a key role in shaping the series-production robots that are already successfully deployed at customer sites across Germany today.

Your responsibilities

• Mechanical Development & Design: You are responsible for the conceptual design and detailed mechanical development of our robot structures, with a focus on creating robust and efficient designs using CAD software.
• Design for Manufacturing: You are responsible for the mechanical design of our series-production robots, particularly the design of sheet metal and plastic components and the selection of suitable manufacturing processes. You also have a solid understanding of specifying standards and tolerances.
• Component Testing & Quality Assurance: You support the inspection of manufactured components to ensure they meet all functional and safety requirements, both internally and at our external suppliers.
• Documentation: You create and maintain documentation for production, service and maintenance, including technical drawings, assembly instructions and bills of materials (BOMs).

Your profile
