Job summary

Quantum-Systems GmbH is seeking a development engineer to join the Mechanical Hardware Design team in Germany. You will shape UAV structures, develop tools, and ensure seamless integration of subsystems with CATIA V5 and PLM tooling.

The role involves design, calculation, and documentation, plus prototype testing and ongoing product maintenance. Ideal candidates hold a degree in aerospace or mechanical/automotive engineering, have 2+ years CAD experience, and are fluent in English.

Qualifications

• You have completed a university degree in aerospace, mechanical, or automotive engineering.
• You have min. 2 years practical experience in CAD development and working with a PLM system.
• You have good working knowledge of CATIA V5 and familiarity with plastics manufacturing processes.
• You are privately interested in modeling or 3D printing.
• Open, communicative, and competent attitude as an internal expert.
• You are highly self-motivated and drive your area of responsibility independently.
• Communication in English is a matter of course for you.

Responsibilities

As a development engineer, you will be a key part of ourMechanical Hardware Design teamto bring your own ideas to the CAD design of new products.Together with our world-class team, currently 9 team members, you will take an empowering role: pushing the boundaries of drone technologies.

You will be working closely with stakeholders from the Electronics, Prototyping and System Test department to solve complex problems in a goal-oriented manner and drive innovation. Development of mechanical systems to Quantum-Systems - your mission will be a powerful impact.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Development and design of UAV structural components and manufacturing tools (CATIA V5)

• Design and calculation (MATLAB, Python, VB.NET, Excel)

• Creation of technical drawings and manufacturing documents

• Integration of subsystems and payload in UAV on the hardware level

• Construction and testing of prototypes and support of small series production

• Product maintenance

• Development of the process chain of the Mechanical Hardware Designdepartment

What you bring to the team:
