Job Title: Materials Engineer – Electrification Modules (Parental Leave Replacement)

Contract Type: Fixed-term contract – January to September (extension possible)

Technical Direction: Global Materials Engineering Supervisor

Role Overview

We are seeking a Materials Engineer to join our Electrification Modules team for a parental leave replacement from January to September (with potential prolongation).

The successful candidate will work in a laboratory environment supporting data-driven analysis, material validation, and troubleshooting activities for next‑generation inverter programs.

This position involves close collaboration with a German-speaking colleague; therefore, English fluency (C1) is required.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (minimum) or Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Polymer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years in a materials development, analysis, or data processing role.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong background in data analysis and methodology (Excel, databases, statistical tools).
    • Experience with laboratory testing techniques (SEM, FTIR, DSC, TGA, thermal and mechanical analysis).
    • Good understanding of mechanical and physical properties of materials.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (C1 level); German is an asset.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team, particularly in a binomial collaboration setup.
  • Knowledge of electrification systems or high‑voltage applications is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Analyze and process material‑related data to support ongoing projects in electrification and high‑voltage modules.
  2. Collaborate with design, testing, and manufacturing teams to select and validate materials for production.
  3. Conduct and interpret laboratory tests (mechanical, thermal, and chemical analyses).
  4. Lead root‑cause analyses for material failures and propose corrective actions.
  5. Maintain and update material databases, specifications, and documentation.
  6. Ensure compliance with environmental and technical standards.
  7. Present findings and recommendations to cross‑functional teams and global stakeholders.
  8. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the materials engineering function.
