Zusammenfassung

Muxon is assisting a fast-growing European space engineering partner in recruiting a Material & Process Engineer for space-flight hardware projects. The role is based predominantly on-site in Eching, north of Munich, and involves selecting and qualifying materials to meet mission requirements, leading ECSS-aligned campaigns and collaborating with customers and suppliers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in materials or process engineering, direct space-flight experience, and strong documentation

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in materials or process engineering.
  • Direct experience with materials for space-flight hardware or space programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of ECSS materials and process standards, including qualification activities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong technical documentation skills.
  • English at C1 level or higher.
  • Willingness to work predominantly on-site in Eching.
  • Direct involvement in flight hardware for major ESA-related space missions.
  • Significant responsibility for innovative materials and manufacturing processes.

Aufgaben

  • Select and qualify composite and metallic materials according to mission requirements.
  • Plan and lead material, surface treatment and process qualification campaigns in line with ECSS standards.
  • Lead and participate in Material & Process Review Boards with customers and suppliers.
  • Characterise material performance and oversee mechanical and environmental testing.
  • Investigate material failures, perform root-cause analysis and report findings.
  • Collaborate with process and production engineers to develop new materials and processes where required.
  • Prepare manufacturing processes, test procedures and technical reports for space projects.

Material & Process Engineer – Space Industry

This position is intended for candidates with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.

The salary range is €80,000–€90,000 gross per year, with higher compensation possible for exceptional profiles.

Work model: Full-time, primarily on-site (limited home office can be arranged individually).

Location: Eching (North of Munich Region), Germany.

Muxon is a small, globally active recruitment agency and is conducting this search on behalf of our partner, a fast-growing European space engineering company specialising in the development and manufacture of deployable antenna reflector technologies and other flight hardware for satellite missions. The role offers the opportunity to work directly on space-flight hardware, including projects connected to major European programmes such as Copernicus.
