The Manufacturing & Process Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and cost‑effectiveness. Furthermore, the Manufacturing & Process Engineer is responsible to lean manage key engineering projects. This role involves working closely with R&D, production teams and other departments to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement.

This position is part of the NPI+Projects (part of the Technical Operations Team) team located in Baierbrunn/Munich and will be on‑site. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Use a continuous improvement mindset using Six Sigma (DMAIC, SPC…) and Lean Tools (PSP, Kaizen…) to analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Work closely with R&D, quality assurance, production, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes.
  • Act as a change leader to define manufacturing methods (like work instructions, tools, jigs, Process‑FMEA and check lists) for new and existing products.
  • Analyze production costs and implement cost‑saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Ensure deadlines within the team are kept and needed information is shared with relevant stakeholders.
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Master’s degree in Manufacturing/Production or Process Engineering or similar and extensive experience in manufacturing processes (+5 years).
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in the implementation of design changes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent technical skills (light assembly).
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/DBS, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Good knowledge of Project Management tools (e.g. Miro, Smartsheet).
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and automation tools (e.g. Power BI, Power Automate).
  • Good knowledge of CAD software and other engineering tools.
  • Excellent English and German skills.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Experience in ISO 13485
