Job Description

Position Summary

The Manager, Sales Operations leads a small team of Sales Operations Analysts responsible for supporting customer accounts, managing forecasts, coordinating order fulfillment activities, and ensuring operational excellence throughout the customer lifecycle. This role serves as a working manager, balancing hands-on account support with coaching and development of team members.

The Manager partners closely with Sales Account Managers, Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer Service to help drive customer satisfaction, forecast accuracy, and on-time delivery performance. This role is ideal for a strong individual contributor ready to take the next step into people leadership while continuing to maintain operational involvement.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Operations Analysts.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, prioritization, and support to team members.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and performance development.
  • Promote best practices and consistency across customer account management activities.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for operational customer issues.

Customer & Account Support

  • Support key customer accounts and provide operational leadership for assigned customers.
  • Partner closely with Sales Account Managers to manage ongoing customer activity.
  • Build effective working relationships with customer procurement, operations, and engineering teams.
  • Ensure timely communication regarding order status, delivery schedules, and supply commitments.
  • Help resolve customer concerns and coordinate issue resolution across functional teams.

Forecast & Demand Management

  • Support the sales forecasting process and drive forecast accuracy.
  • Review customer demand trends and communicate changes to internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with Planning to align customer forecasts with capacity and production plans.
  • Ensure CRM and forecasting systems are maintained accurately.
  • Assist in developing reports and metrics to support business decisions.

Order Management & Execution

  • Oversee daily order management activities for assigned accounts.
  • Monitor backlog, customer orders, delivery schedules, and order changes.
  • Ensure customer requirements are accurately reflected within internal systems.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Planning, and Operations to support timely execution.
  • Escalate risks that may impact customer commitments.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as a liaison between:
    • Sales
    • Planning
    • Supply Chain
    • Engineering
    • Manufacturing
    • Customer Service
  • Participate in account reviews, demand meetings, and operational reviews.
  • Help drive alignment between customer expectations and operational capabilities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency and customer experience.

New Product Introduction (NPI) Support

  • Coordinate operational activities related to new product introductions.
  • Track key milestones and support customer qualification timelines.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales teams to ensure readiness for production ramps.
  • Monitor progress and communicate potential risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • Multiple years of experience in Sales Operations, Customer Operations, Supply Chain, or related business functions.
  • Prior leadership experience, project leadership, or mentoring experience preferred.
  • Semiconductor, manufacturing, or high-tech industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Oracle, ERP systems, and forecasting processes.
