Job summary

IONOS in Berlin is seeking an experienced procurement professional to manage goods and services for data centre operations across the US, UK and Spain. You will negotiate supplier contracts, analyse markets, and collaborate with technical teams to optimise procurement processes.

The role requires a degree in business or engineering, several years in IT procurement, strong analytical skills, and fluency in German and English (Spanish a plus).

Qualifications

• Degree in business administration or engineering or equivalent.
• Several years of procurement experience, preferably in data centre/IT infra.
• Sound technical and commercial expertise.
• Knowledge of data centre goods procurement is a plus.
• Market knowledge of USA, UK and Spain.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen.
• Experience leading contract negotiations.
• Proficiency with P2P systems, ideally Coupa.
• Fluent German and English; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Procurement of goods and services for data centre sectors in the US, UK and Spain.
• Execute and negotiate supplier and framework agreements with relevant technical departments.
• Perform market and supplier analysis to identify suppliers and opportunities.
• Collaborate with technical departments and provide procurement support beyond the named countries.
• Manage RFP processes and supplier qualification/certification.
• Handle procurement processes via the Coupa P2P system.
• Ensure adherence to internal procurement guidelines and compliance.
• Contribute to continuous development of procurement processes in an international context.

Tasks

• Procurement of goods and services in the data centre sector for the US, UK and Spanish markets
• Executing and negotiating supplier and framework agreements in collaboration with the relevant technical departments
• Market and supplier analysis in the aforementioned countries to identify suitable suppliers and opportunities for optimisation
• Working closely with and supporting the technical departments as required, including beyond the aforementioned countries
• Managing RFP processes as well as supplier qualification and certification
• Handling procurement processes via our P2P system landscape (Coupa)
• Ensuring adherence to internal procurement guidelines and compliance requirements
• Contributing to the continuous development of procurement processes in an international context

Qualifications

• A degree (in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or similar) or equivalent qualification.
• Several years' professional experience in procurement, ideally within the data centre or IT infrastructure sector.
• Sound technical and commercial expertise.
• Knowledge of procuring data centre-specific goods (e.g. electrical/cooling technology, long-lead equipment) would be an advantage.
• Market knowledge in the USA, the UK and Spain.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen.
• Experience in leading contract negotiations.
• Practical experience with P2P systems, ideally Coupa.
• Very good written and spoken German and English; knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage.
• A determined, independent and solution-oriented approach to work.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.
