Overview

The Hoxton, Charlottenburg (Berlin) – Maintenance Technician

We are looking for experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team and play a crucial part in successfully bringing our brand to a new market.

Our first Hoxton in Germany is home to 234 bedrooms of varying sizes, a ground floor restaurant and bar, coffee bar and streetside terrace and The Apartment – our unique meetings and events concept.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will take care of the daily upkeep and repair of our hotel facilities and equipment, making sure everything runs smoothly, safely, and up to standard.

More about us...

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.

Responsibilities
  • You ensure that technical operations run smoothly in day-to-day business.
  • You will independently carry out minor repairs and fix faults in all areas of the hotel.
  • Care and attention are required here – you will operate, maintain and document all technical equipment.
  • You will check our safety and fire protection equipment and ensure compliance with the applicable safety regulations.
  • Painting and other regular maintenance tasks are part of your job.
  • You coordinate material requirements with the relevant contact person.
  • Thanks to you, all technical equipment such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, as well as sanitary and electrical systems, are in perfect condition.
Qualifications
  • Completed apprenticeship in the relevant field (electrical, plumbing or building services)
  • Ideally 1-2 years of professional experience as a technician, electrician or a similar role
  • You can communicate fluently in German and English (any additional languages are an advantage)
  • You have a sound technical understanding
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (shift work)
  • A talent for carrying out minor repairs
  • You are a team player, but can also carry out your tasks independently
  • You are looking for a place where you can be yourself – there are no clones in suits here
What’s in it for you
  • A competitive package and plenty of opportunity for development.
  • I’s a role with impact on culture, engagement and people experience, not just admin
  • Join an innovative, fast-growing, international group that’s committed to not just building new hotels but building a global brand.
  • The chance to challenge the norm and work in an environment that is both creative and rewarding.
  • Enjoy a free night at The Hoxton and a meal for two when you first start with us.
  • Food on us during your shift – we support you finding a fueling lunch with Pluxee Benefits Card and food vouchers.
  • Great discounts across the entire Ennismore family.
  • Lots of opportunity to progress and switch it up as part of a global family of brands.
  • Extra time off to volunteer with one of our partner charities.
  • Regular team get togethers, from our team drinks to our bi-annual parties – we know how to have a good time!
  • An annual diversity and inclusion calendar of events creating opportunities for you to learn, celebrate and make a positive impact.
  • Get in touch with experts from OpenUp to balance work and life or any other mental-wellbeing related topic.
  • Enjoy lots of Discounts through our Corporate Benefits Discount webpage.
  • Learn and grow with our Ennismore Learning platform and its +6.000 training opportunities
  • BVG Public Transportation Ticket on us!
