About the Role

We are looking for a Renewable Energy M&A / Investment Associate to join a growing team focused on the acquisition, development and investment of renewable energy projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience or exposure to renewable energy transactions who wants to take on greater responsibility across live deals and play a key role in supporting transaction execution.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior team members across multiple transactions, helping to manage deal processes from initial analysis and due diligence through to negotiation and completion. The role will suit someone who is commercially minded, highly organised and comfortable taking ownership of delegated workstreams.

The team currently has several transactions progressing simultaneously, so this is a key hire that will provide additional capacity and help drive deals forward efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the execution of renewable energy M&A and investment transactions across technologies such as solar PV, battery energy storage (BESS) and wind.
• Assist with the analysis and evaluation of potential acquisition and investment opportunities.
• Build, maintain and review financial models, including project-level financial analysis and investment returns.
• Support transaction processes from initial opportunity assessment through to due diligence, negotiations, signing and completion.
• Assist with the review and analysis of PPAs, commercial agreements and other transaction documentation.
• Coordinate and manage delegated deal workstreams, taking ownership of deliverables and ensuring they are completed to a high standard and within agreed timelines.
• Work with internal and external advisers throughout financial, commercial, technical, legal and other due diligence processes.
• Maintain data rooms, data books, transaction documentation and DD materials, ensuring information is accurate, complete and fully up to date.
• Prepare analysis, presentations and other materials required for investment committees, management and transaction counterparties.
• Track transaction progress, key actions, outstanding information and deadlines across multiple live processes.
• Help identify issues and risks within transactions and escalation these appropriately to senior team members.
• Contribute to negotiations and broader transaction strategy, gaining increasing responsibility as your experience develops.

About You

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in the renewable energy and energy transition sector, combined with some practical exposure to M&A, investments or transactions.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience or exposure to renewable energy M&A, project finance, investments or transactions.
• Experience across one or more of solar PV, BESS and/or wind is highly desirable.
• A working understanding of transaction processes, PPAs and commercial negotiations.
• Some level of financial modelling capability, with the ability to understand and work with project and investment models.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a commercial mindset.
• The ability to manage your own workload and take ownership of delegated workstreams.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly when managing transaction documentation and due diligence materials.
• Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• The confidence to work with senior stakeholders, advisers and external counterparties.
• A proactive, hands-on approach - someone who sees what needs to be done and gets on with it rather than waiting to be asked.
