Trust in SODA is seeking an experienced Rails engineer to lead a small, talented engineering team while staying hands-on with the platform. You will run 1:1s, conduct technical interviews, and shape the architecture as the product grows.

The role requires 6+ years of software experience with Ruby on Rails, strong PostgreSQL knowledge, MVC, and TDD, plus leadership and fluent English (C1+). This is a full-time, on-site position in Berlin, Germany.

Formación

• 6+ years as a software engineer, ideally including time at Staff level.
• In-depth knowledge of full-stack Ruby on Rails.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL), MVC frameworks and TDD.
• Some leadership experience.

• Lead and grow a team of software engineers, conduct 1:1s and feedback sessions.

• Review code, pair program, and guide the team through difficult problems.
• Shape platform architecture and growth strategy.

If you’re an experienced Rails engineer who enjoys helping others get better as much as writing great code, this role was made for you. You’ll lead a small, talented engineering team while staying hands-on with the platform every week.

What you’ll do

• Lead and grow a team of 3-6 software engineers: run 1:1s and feedback sessions, and support each person’s professional and personal development
• Build your own team: run technical interviews, make the hiring decisions and onboard new engineers so they settle in quickly
• Be the go-to technical partner: review code, pair program and help the team work through tough problems
• Shape the architecture of the platform and help decide how it grows
• Build new features across the backend and the frontend

What you’ll bring

• 6+ years as a software engineer, ideally including time at Staff level
• In-depth knowledge of full-stack Ruby on Rails
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL), MVC frameworks and TDD
• Some leadership experience.
• Strong communication skills and fluent English (C1+)
• A Bachelor-level way of working and thinking
