DeepRec.ai in Berlin, Germany, is seeking a lead software engineer to own the build of a safety intelligence platform for robotics, from first commit through the first certified release. You will work directly with the CTO, shaping technical direction in production C++17+ on embedded Linux/RTOS, and champion MISRA and AUTOSAR discipline, safety lifecycle processes, testing, and evidence packaging.

As lead software engineer, working directly alongside the CTO, you own that build from first commit through first certified release.

• The engineering practices the rest of the team inherits: MISRA and AUTOSAR discipline, static analysis, CI, SIL and HIL, observability.
• The build/buy line, and the next hires on the core team.

what you need

• Production C++17+ at senior level, with deterministic real-time work on embedded Linux, PREEMPT_RT, or an RTOS (QNX, VxWorks, Zephyr).
• MISRA / AUTOSAR C++14 discipline, plus one of Polyspace, Helix QAC, LDRA, Parasoft, Vector CAST.
• Safety-critical lifecycle fluency: V-model, FMEA / FMEDA, FTA, traceability, evidence packaging.
• A track record shipping production systems software, including a stint setting technical direction somewhere early-stage.

Stands out:

a safety case with your signature on it (SIL2, PLd or ASIL-B, to notified-body sign-off). Sensor fusion fundamentals. CUDA / Jetson or automotive-grade SoC deployment. Founding or hire-#1 experience. Formal methods. German alongside English.
