Cubiq Recruitment is seeking a Functional Safety Engineering Lead for Humanoid Robotics. You will own hazard analyses across platforms, pushing safety requirements into hardware, software, and mechanics, and build the certification case for audits and certification bodies.

You start solo, shaping the safety program from the ground up. As the business scales, you’ll hire and lead a team, mentoring engineers and driving a robust safety culture.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years in functional safety, ideally robotics automotive or industrial automation.
• Hands-on experience with real safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ISO 13849).
• A product you have taken through certification end-to-end.
• Comfort building something from nothing and leading a team when it exists.
• Strong communication with auditors, regulators and engineers.

Functional Safety Engineering Lead - Humanoid Robotics

Humanoid robots are about to work next to humans. There's no rulebook for that yet. We want to help write it, and we need someone who can own that from day one.

The job

You're the person standing between robots and anyone getting hurt. You'll run hazard analysis across platforms, force safety requirements into hardware, software, and mechanical design, and build the case that proves we did this properly, for us, auditors and certification bodies.

You'll start as a solo owner, no team, no templates, no process, you build all of it. As the business scales, you build the team around you.

As the standards for humanoid safety (ISO 25785, ISO 22440) don't fully exist yet, you'll sit on the ISO working groups shaping them. You're not just complying with the rules, you're helping write them.

You'll be doing:

• Owning HARA across robotic platforms, concept through production
• Running FMEA/FMEDA and fault tree analysis
• Building the safety case, safety plan, and safety manual against ISO 26262 / IEC 61508 / ISO 13849 (and the emerging humanoid standards)
• Being the primary contact for certification bodies and auditors
• Integrating safety work from external experts and vendors into one coherent system-level case
• Coaching engineers on functional safety today; hiring and leading a team tomorrow
• Actively shaping ISO 25785 and ISO 22440 through committee work

You'll need:

• 5+ years in functional safety, ideally robotics automotive or industrial automation also works
• Hands-on experience with a real safety standard (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ISO 13849, ISO 10218/TS 15066)
• A product you've personally taken through certification, start to finish not just contributed to one
• Comfort building something from nothing, and the ambition to lead a team once it exists
• The communication skills to hold your own with auditors, regulators, and your own engineers

Nice to have:

• TÜV FSE certification or equivalent
• Experience mentoring or leading engineers
