We're looking for a hands-on Embedded Linux Leader to help shape the software platform behind a range of sophisticated embedded and autonomous systems. This role combines technical leadership with deep embedded Linux development, offering the opportunity to influence architecture, mentor engineers, and contribute directly to high-impact products operating in demanding real-world environments.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading a team of Embedded Linux engineers developing software for complex embedded platforms
- Driving technical direction and software architecture decisions across Linux-based systems
- Designing and developing robust Embedded Linux solutions in C/C++
- Working closely with hardware, systems, software, and product teams
- Supporting platform bring-up, integration, debugging, and performance optimisation
- Contributing hands‑on to software development while mentoring and growing engineers
- Helping establish engineering best practices, tooling, CI/CD, and development processes
- Influencing the future software roadmap for a rapidly scaling engineering organisation
What We're Looking For
- Strong Embedded Linux development experience
- Excellent C and/or C++ programming skills
- Previous technical leadership or team leadership experience
- Experience working close to hardware in embedded environments
- Familiarity with Linux platform development, debugging, and optimisation
- Experience with cross-compilation environments and embedded toolchains
- Strong understanding of software architecture and systems design
- Comfortable working in fast‑moving product development environments
Nice to Have
- Yocto or Buildroot experience
- Experience within robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, or related embedded domains
- Experience working within safety‑critical or high‑reliability environments
