Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of carpenters, delegating tasks, providing technical guidance, and fostering a productive and safe work environment.
- Project Management: Plan, organize, and manage carpentry projects from start to finish, including reading and interpreting blueprints, estimating materials, and ensuring on-schedule completion.
- Carpentry Expertise: Perform a wide range of advanced carpentry work, including rough framing, sheathing, drywall, trim, custom cabinetry, and formwork.
- Quality Control: Conduct detailed inspections to ensure work meets company standards and building codes.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols on the job site, ensuring proper and safe use of tools and equipment.
- Training: Provide hands-on training and skill development for junior carpenters and apprentices.
Desired Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Meister certification or equivalent advanced carpentry certification highly desirable.
- Experience: 7–10 years of professional carpentry experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Mastery of all carpentry tools, equipment, and techniques; strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Leadership: Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities with the capacity to manage people, projects, and resources effectively.
- Certification: Valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders and scaffolding, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to work in diverse conditions, including exposure to loud noise, dust, fumes, and all types of weather.
