Job Description Summary

In the role of Lead Engineer for Electric Machines - Mechanical Design you will be a key member of the Hybrid-Electric team within GE Aerospace, located in Garching near Munich. You will work on exciting projects like the next generation single aisle aircraft propulsion system with hybridization (RISE) or the next generation hybrid regional propulsion system (AMBER). Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform the mechanical analysis for electric machine design
  • Lead/support the mechanical design of electric machines
  • Collaborate with interfacing disciplines of electric machine design and test
  • Support the electric machine concept development for hybrid applications

Required Qualifications

  • Master diploma in mechanical engineering or related fields; experience with electrical machines and mechanical design, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Advanced expertise in 2D/3D mechanical and heat transfer analysis (e.g., ANSYS) and proficiency with CAD and PLM tools (e.g., Siemens NX, TeamCenter).
  • Experience in rotor dynamics analysis, gearbox integration, and validating electric machine technology through prototyping and lab testing.
  • Proven system thinker with strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
