CMF - Center for Molecular Fingerprinting in Bavaria is seeking a Junior Metabolomics Scientist or Metabolomics Laboratory Assistant. The role focuses on LC-MS analysis of small molecules and lipids, high-throughput sample handling, and data-driven quality control in a research setting.

The ideal candidate holds a BSc in a life science and demonstrates strong data integrity, SOP compliance, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced lab environment with English proficiency.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience with LC-MS analysis of small molecules and/or lipids in a research or analytical lab.
• Biological sample preparation and handling for LC-MS workflows.
• Experience acquiring and reviewing chromatographic and mass spectrometric data.
• Operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation.
• Ability to work in a high-throughput environment with attention to quality and detail.
• LIMS familiarity.
• Data quality, reproducibility, documentation, and SOP compliance.
• Teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in English.
• EU citizenship (visa restrictions apply).
• Experience with LC-MS metabolomics/lipidomics and high-throughput datasets.
• Waters LC-MS systems, especially QTOF platforms.
• Metabolomics software such as XCMS, MZmine, MS-DIAL.

Required

• Hands-on experience with LC-MS analysis of small molecules and/or lipids in a research, clinical, pharmaceutical, or analytical laboratory environment.
• Hands-on Experience with biological sample preparation and handling for LC-MS workflows.
• Experience acquiring and reviewing chromatographic and mass spectrometric data.
• Ability to operate, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-throughput laboratory environment while maintaining attention to quality and detail.
• Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
• Strong focus on data quality, reproducibility, documentation, and compliance with SOPs.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Basic proficiency with standard computer software and laboratory data systems.
• Fluency in English.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent time-management skills and a high level of accuracy and reliability.
• EU citizenship (unfortunately we can’t accept work visas or any similar documents)
• Experience with the challenges and problem solving of LC-MS-based metabolomics and/or lipidomics workflows.
• Experience with high-throughput (1000s of samples) blood plasma metabolomics or lipidomics.
• Experience operating Waters LC-MS systems, particularly QTOF platforms.
• Familiarity with metabolomics and mass spectrometry software such as XCMS, MZmine, MS-DIAL, or similar tools.
• Experience working with large-scale LC-MS datasets and quality control workflows.
