United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a junior Data Engineer in Hamburg to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures for multinational clients. You will work across ETL/ELT processes and cloud platforms, collaborating with senior engineers to ensure data quality and compliance.

You will contribute to data modeling, warehousing, and AI-enabled use cases while developing in a bilingual environment with both German and English communication skills.

Qualifikationen

• Solid foundational knowledge of data modeling and modern data warehousing architectures.
• Proficiency in Python and strong SQL for querying and manipulating complex datasets.
• Hands-on experience with Git for version control and collaborative development.
• Practical exposure to or understanding of working within cloud environments (Azure or AWS).
• Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication in German (C1) and English (B2).

Your responsibilities

• You will support the team in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines according to client business needs and embedding them end-to-end into the given data stack
• On this role, you will assist in maintaining and optimizing data infrastructure required for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) from a wide variety of data sources
• As a junior Data Engineer, you will build, test, and deploy data artifacts on cloud platforms using modern version control best practices
• You will collaborate with senior engineers to ensure data accuracy, integrity, privacy, security, and compliance by applying data quality assurance methods
• Monitoring data pipeline performance and assisting in identifying opportunities for pipeline optimization
• In this role, you will work closely together with both the company and client staff as part of an agile project team

Our requirements

• Solid foundational knowledge of data modeling concepts and modern data warehousing architectures
• Proficiency in Python and strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating complex datasets
• Hands‑on experience with Git for version control and collaborative development
• Practical exposure to or understanding of working within cloud environments (such as Azure or AWS)
• Eagerness to learn new ETL/ELT tools, cloud technologies, and software engineering practices
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and an enthusiastic, proactive approach to learning
• Ability to work both independently on delegated tasks and collaboratively within agile project teams
• A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
• Articulate with impeccable verbal and written communication skills in German (C1 level) and English (B2 level). Strong & discerning listener
