Jobbeschreibung
IT CAN BE COMPLICATED:
TEAMWORK SHOULDN'T BE.

Success is a team sport. That's why BMW doesn’t simply employ specialists with proven expertise, but real people who understand one another. And we support them with cutting-edge technology and sophisticated processes that leave enough space for unconventional thinking.

We are shaping the future of virtual vehicle development by combining classical simulation methods with cutting-edge AI and driving data‑driven innovation for product development.

What awaits you?
  • You build, validate, and analyze finite element models (FEA/FEM) for structural, crash, noise, vibration, harshness, and aerodynamic simulations.
  • In addition, you apply AI methods such as Physics‑Informed Neural Networks, MeshGraphNets, and multimodal approaches to accelerate physics‑based simulations and improve CAE workflows.
  • You develop hybrid modeling approaches that combine classical simulation with data‑driven methods.
  • Furthermore, you automate simulation processes and data analyses and integrate them into cloud or HPC environments.
  • Not least, you closely collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate AI‑based simulation technologies into the development of vehicle structure, acoustics, and aerodynamics.
What should you bring along?
  • University degree (master's degree or PhD) in mechanical engineering, computational engineering, computer science, or related disciplines.
  • Initial practical experience in CAE simulation and virtual validation.
  • Profound knowledge of FEA methods and experience with explicit or implicit solvers such as LS‑DYNA or Abaqus.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and MATLAB as well as experience with simulation automation and data analysis.
  • Enthusiasm for combining physical simulation, aerodynamics, and artificial intelligence.
  • Experience with HPC and cloud simulation platforms.
  • Knowledge in fluid mechanics, battery systems, lightweight construction, or vehicle safety.
  • Practice in AI‑based simulation methods and foundation models.
