Zusammenfassung

Hubject in Berlin is seeking a Junior Accountant (all genders) to join our finance team. You will own accounts payable and fixed asset accounting, ensuring accurate day-to-day bookkeeping and reliable financial statements under HGB.

Fluent in English and German, you will work onsite with a hybrid setup (2 days office, 3 days remote). Starting as soon as possible, you will support monthly closings and tax-related tasks while helping to optimize accounting processes.

Qualifikationen

• Completed commercial training or equivalent in financial accounting.
• Several years of professional experience in financial accounting, especially payables and fixed assets.
• Solid knowledge of German GAAP (HGB); IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency with DATEV/SAP and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Careful, structured and reliable way of working.
• Team player with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.

Aufgaben

• Handle accounts payable: verify invoices, code, post, and process payments.
• Manage fixed asset accounting: record, value, and depreciate assets.
• Review and post travel expenses and credit card statements.
• Code and post transactions per German GAAP (HGB).
• Reconcile accounts and clear open items.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under HGB; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Support accounts receivable as holiday/sick cover.
• Assist VAT returns and tax-related matters.
• Assist audits and help document and improve accounting processes.

As a Junior Accountant (all genders) at Hubject, you'll be a key part of our finance team in Berlin, taking ownership of accounts payable and fixed asset accounting as core areas of our financial operations. Hubject is a joint venture of leading automotive, energy and technology companies, and its eRoaming platform intercharge connects charge point operators and e-mobility providers worldwide to make EV charging simple and seamless. Working in an international environment, you'll help keep our numbers accurate and reliable, from day-to-day bookkeeping to financial statements under German GAAP (HGB).

Your Tasks

• Independent handling of accounts payable (invoice verification, coding, posting and processing of payment transactions)
• Management of fixed asset accounting, including recording, valuation and depreciation of fixed assets
• Review, coding and posting of travel expense and credit card statements
• Coding and posting of ongoing business transactions in accordance with German GAAP (HGB)
• Reconciliation and maintenance of accounts as well as clearing of open items
• Support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under HGB (IFRS knowledge an advantage)
• Support in accounts receivable as holiday and sickness cover
• Preparation of advance VAT returns and support with tax-related matters
• Support during annual, operational and tax audits
• Support in documenting and continuously improving our accounting processes

Your Profile

• Completed commercial training, ideally with further qualification in financial accounting, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of solid professional experience in financial accounting, particularly in accounts payable and fixed asset accounting
• Sound knowledge of accounting under German GAAP (HGB); IFRS knowledge is a plus
• Confident use of a common accounting/ERP system (e.g. DATEV, SAP or similar) and MS Office, especially Excel
• Careful, structured and reliable way of working
• Team spirit as well as a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
