Quantum Systems is seeking a skilled Java Cloud Developer to design, build, and maintain our internal backend systems. You will develop scalable, secure cloud services to support our autonomous multi-domain platforms in the air, land, and sea.

You will work with Spring Boot, REST APIs, Docker and Kubernetes, and major cloud providers. You will mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, observable systems.

Formación

• Several years of professional backend development experience with Java (Java 17+).
• Strong Spring Boot experience and building RESTful APIs/microservices.
• Hands-on cloud experience (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP welcome).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and messaging/event-driven architectures.
• Understanding of security, scalability, and performance in distributed systems.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Java Cloud Developer to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our internal backend systems. You will be responsible for building scalable, reliable, and secure cloud services that support Quantum Systems in its mission to become the leader in autonomous multi-domain systems for air, ground, and water.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and performant backend services in Java for our internal backend systems.
• Build and operate cloud-native applications and microservices, with a focus on reliability, security, and observability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement product requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices.
• Design and integrate APIs and data pipelines that connect our autonomous systems with cloud services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues to ensure system uptime and stability.
• Contribute to the overall architecture and design of our backend systems.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and cloud trends.
• Mentor and guide junior developers to help them grow and develop their skills.

What you bring to the team:

• Several years of professional experience in backend development with Java (modern versions, e.g. Java 17+).
• Solid experience with Spring Boot or comparable frameworks and with building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP also welcome).
• Good knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and with messaging or event-driven architectures.
• Understanding of security, scalability, and performance in distributed systems.
• Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or similar).
• Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar streaming and messaging systems.
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
• Background in geospatial data, telemetry, or data pipelines for sensors and robotic systems.
• Experience in a defence, aerospace, or other regulated environment.
