Job summary

DKV Mobility in Ratingen is seeking an IT System Engineer CMDB (gn) to join a hybrid team focusing on CMDB structures, data quality, and asset management. You will collaborate across IT to optimize data models, integrations, and supporting IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

• You hold a degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics, have completed vocational training in IT, or have gained comparable practical IT experience.
• You have initial practical experience in IT infrastructure, IT operations, IT service management, or a comparable technical environment.
• Ideally, you have already worked with ITSM platforms, CMDB solutions, or asset management tools.
• You have a basic understanding of or strong interest in Configuration Management, IT Asset Management, and IT infrastructure.
• Knowledge of ITIL, information security, NIS2, DORA, or ISMS is an advantage but not a requirement.
• Experience with interfaces, automation, scripting, discovery technologies, or data integration is a plus.
• You have an analytical and structured approach, understand technical relationships, and enjoy improving systems, data, and processes.
• You are eager to learn and take ownership, enjoy collaborating with different IT teams, and have fluent German and good English skills.

Responsibilities

• You analyze the existing system, infrastructure, and CMDB landscape and continuously improve CMDB structures, data models, and integrations.
• You configure, maintain, and further develop infrastructure and asset management solutions and support their integration into the existing IT environment.
• You maintain and optimize CMDB structures, data quality, and consistency across different infrastructure domains.
• You support the development of standards and processes for identifying, maintaining, and classifying IT assets.
• You contribute to the further development and implementation of the company-wide Asset Classification methodology (CIAA), considering security, risk, and compliance requirements.
• You support reliable asset inventory management and create transparency around dependencies between systems, services, and infrastructure components.
• You support the classification and assessment of IT assets based on their protection requirements and translate requirements into technical solutions and operational measures.
• Together with various IT teams, you identify and implement opportunities for automation, technical improvements, and better data quality, while gradually taking on more responsibility for CMDB and asset management topics.
