We are looking for an IT Support Engineer (m/f/x) to join our motivated team in Berlin. The IT team is the backbone of our technology operations, focused on maintaining a secure, efficient, and scalable infrastructure that powers the entire company. We are a crucial, hands‑on team that ensures every employee has the tools and support they need to succeed, both in the office and remotely. This role is unique because you'll jump in immediately to provide essential support and stability while also working closely with our Senior IT Manager on strategic, long‑term infrastructure and security projects.
What you will do:
- Ensure smooth and reliable day‑to‑day operations by providing exceptional first‑ and second‑level technical support, swiftly resolving issues across hardware, software, and networking.
- Elevate the employee experience by delivering seamless onboarding and offboarding for all staff, ensuring everyone has the right tools and access from day one.
- Implement security enhancements and infrastructure improvements by actively participating in strategic projects, focusing on identity management, security measures, and modernizing our tech stack.
- Drive efficiency and automation by continuously reviewing existing processes, challenging the status quo, and proposing improvements to workflows and tool configurations.
- Manage and optimize our hardware and software assets, ensuring accurate inventory, timely refreshes, and an effective asset management process.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on office infrastructure, providing on‑site support and managing local network equipment and device availability.
- Contribute to the company's overall IT strategy by collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including Engineering and Product, and aligning with networking and hardware initiatives.
Here is a good summary of what we are looking for:
- Strong conceptual understanding of identity management and device management principles
- Proven experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and deploying and supporting macOS environments and related tools
- Hands‑on troubleshooting expertise, effectively diagnosing and fixing hardware and software issues
- Practical knowledge of core business infrastructure tools, office hardware, and networking fundamentals
- Experience with onboarding and offboarding procedures, ensuring a secure and welcoming process
- Ability to provide essential on‑site support when required to maintain local office availability
- A proactive and friendly approach to customer service, quickly understanding user issues from their perspective
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills, effectively partnering with users and technical teams like SRE and Engineering
Bonus points if you bring:
- Familiarity with tools such as Okta, Jamf, Slack, Atlassian, Google Workspace, or 1Password
- Experience with large‑scale projects, such as an identity provider migration or a hardware refresh cycle
- Hands‑on skills in installing and configuring computer and network hardware
