WHU is seeking an IT Specialist Digitalization & Automation (f/m/d) to join the IT Solutions team. You will design and implement modern IT solutions, focusing on digitalization initiatives and automation across departments, coordinating with the Project Manager Strategy & Transformation and IT specialists.

You will create AI-enabled services and ensure scalable, secure operations. You will translate business requirements into technical solutions, develop interfaces, and support the deployment

General information

As an IT Specialist Digitalization & Automation (f/m/d), you will be part of the IT Solutions team and contribute to WHU’s digital development by designing and implementing modern IT solutions.
A particular focus of your role will be on digitalization and transformation initiatives. You will work closely with the Project Manager Strategy & Transformation, the various departments, and the specialists within IT Solutions. While business objectives and requirements are structured collaboratively, you will contribute the technical perspective and support the design and implementation of suitable solutions.
Depending on the project, you will either take direct technical responsibility or collaborate with other IT specialists. In this way, solutions are developed that integrate effectively into WHU’s existing system landscape and can be operated, maintained, and further developed sustainably within IT.

Your mission

• Analyze existing processes, identify opportunities for digitalization and automation, and translate business requirements into technically feasible solutions
• Design and implement digitalization and transformation initiatives in close collaboration with departments, the Project Manager Strategy & Transformation, and other IT specialists
• Develop and implement automations and digital workflows using low-code/no-code platforms as well as complementary scripting and programming languages
• Design and implement interfaces and integrations between applications, data sources, and cloud services
• Integrate and configure AI-based applications and services
• Take technical responsibility within projects, from solution design and coordination of existing IT expertise through to transition into stable operations
• Provide technical support for the implementation and further development of software applications and new technologies, including testing, updates, and documentation
• Ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions in line with WHU’s IT standards
• Provide technical advice to departments and support users during the introduction of new solutions
• Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies with regard to their potential use at WHU

Your profile

• Successfully completed technical vocational training, a degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification
• Alternatively, extensive professional experience relevant to the responsibilities of the position
• Experience in the technical design and implementation of digital solutions
• Experience with automation, process digitalization, or system integration
• Experience in the administration, configuration, or implementation of complex software applications
• Good knowledge of modern cloud and software architectures
• Good knowledge of Microsoft technologies, for example Microsoft 365, Power Platform, or comparable platforms
• Good knowledge of SQL and databases
• Experience with low-code/no-code platforms and, ideally, at least one scripting or programming language
• Good understanding of APIs, interfaces, and the integration of different systems and data sources
• Interest in artificial intelligence and, ideally, initial practical experience in integrating AI services
• Understanding of IT security, data protection, authorization concepts, and stable application operations
• Ability to understand business requirements, structure them from a technical perspective, and independently develop suitable solution approaches
• Motivation to take technical responsibility in projects and to implement solutions together with specialists from different business and IT areas
• Independent, structured, and self-reliant working style, combined with a high level of reliability, service orientation, and teamwork
• Very good communication skills in both German and English
