Excelitas Technologies Corp. is seeking an experienced IT Network Architect to design, implement, and support our global network infrastructure from Alzenau. You will mentor a small team, oversee WAN/LAN, and drive secure, scalable solutions across cloud and on-prem environments.

The role requires hands-on network operations, project leadership, and strong communication in German and English to align stakeholders and vendors with business goals.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 8+ years of professional networking experience.
• CCNP or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Experience architecting enterprise networks and leading large IT projects.
• Hands-on with enterprise-grade switches, routers, firewalls, WLAN controllers, and cloud networking.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and STP; VPNs, IDS/IPS, NAC; cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
• Fluent German and English communication; ability to mentor others.

Excelitas is looking for an experienced and driven IT Network Architect who combines strong technical expertise with strategic thinking and a hands-on approach. In this versatile role, you will be responsible for the technical design, evolution, implementation, and support of our global network infrastructure. You will ensure the stability, integrity, and security of our enterprise networks while leading complex technical projects that drive continuous improvement and support Excelitas’ strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Mentorship: Mentor a small team of network and IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Hands-On Network Operations: Actively participate in the day-to-day management of network infrastructure, including the configuration, installation, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Network Architecture & Design: Design, plan, and implement scalable and secure LAN/WAN and cloud network solutions to meet current and future business demands.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution to ensure maximum network uptime and performance.
• Project Management: Plan and execute network-related IT projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with business goals.
• Network Security: Develop, implement, and enforce network security policies and procedures. Manage firewalls, VPNs, NAC, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to protect data and system integrity.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with vendors, internal departments, and key stakeholders to define requirements, manage service level agreements (SLAs), and communicate project status and network performance.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network architecture, configurations, processes, and disaster recovery plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field. An Equivalent combination of education and practical experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
• 8+ years of professional experience in technical networking roles.
• Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent are highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in architecting enterprise network environments and solutions, as well as managing large-scale IT infrastructure projects.
• Advanced knowledge of network infrastructure and routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and STP.
• Hands-on proficiency with enterprise-grade switches, routers, firewalls, WLAN controllers, and cloud networking constructs.
• Strong understanding of network security principles, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, access control, and threat management.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise wireless networking standards, deployment, and security.
• Experience with cloud networking concepts and services, such as AWS (VPC, Direct Connect) and Azure (VNet, ExpressRoute), as well as network monitoring and automation tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills in both German and English, combined with the ability to mentor others and effectively align technical stakeholders and vendors.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices, including incident, change, and problem management.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively balance operational support with project responsibilities.
