Task Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to take on the following responsibilities :
Strategic Planning & Business Alignment
- Develop and maintain IT Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) with a focus on both infrastructure resilience (cloud, on-premises, hybrid) and business alignment.
- Engage with business stakeholders and application owners to assess acceptable downtime / data loss, translating these into qualified RTO / RPO targets based on operational impact and feasibility.
- Act as a strategic interface between IT and business leadership, presenting DR strategy options with cost vs. risk analysis to enable informed executive decisions.
- Promotes Disaster Recovery awareness across the organization and advises on future-ready DR architecture
Risk & Impact Analysis
- Conduct structured interviews and workshops to understand business unit dependencies, alternative workflows, and the consequences of outages or data loss.
- Prioritize systems and define criticality tiers to guide DR strategy selection and ensure alignment with business priorities.
Backup Strategy, Policy & Governance
- Design, implement, and enforce backup policies across all infrastructure layers (VMs, databases, SaaS, network devices), including retention, immutability, off‑site / offline copies, and ransomware protection.
- Establish governance frameworks for backup and recovery operations, including RBAC, Multi‑User Authorization (MUA), and audit readiness.
- Monitor and report on backup health, coverage, and compliance using centralized dashboards and automated reporting tools.
Infrastructure-Backed DR Strategy
- Collaborate with IT teams to evaluate and propose DR solutions (e.g., backup / restore, pilot light, warm standby, active‑active, multi‑cloud) based on business requirements and cost‑benefit analysis.
- Map interdependence between systems to avoid misaligned recovery objectives and ensure holistic recovery.
Testing, Validation & Continuous Improvement
- Plan and execute disaster recovery simulations and failover tests to validate recovery capabilities against defined RTO / RPO targets.
- Document test results, lessons learned, and improvement actions to ensure DR plans are practical and effective.
- Drive continuous improvement of IT continuity maturity by aligning with standards (ISO 27031, NIS2, EASA Part‑IS), conducting gap analysis, and integrating ITSCM principles into infrastructure and vendor management.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of backup configurations, recovery procedures, and continuity plans.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, supporting audit and certification processes with traceable evidence.
Essential Requirements For The Position
- Technical diploma with a focus in IT required.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT, with a focus on Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR).
- Strong knowledge of IT network technologies, cloud platforms, and resilience strategies.
- Solid understanding of IT systems and network infrastructure, including network architecture and services.
- Familiarity with application monitoring concepts.
- Willingness to attend regular training and stay current with emerging technologies.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written). Additional languages are considered a strong asset.

Working Conditions
- Permanent, full‑time contract based in our HQ in Luxembourg.
- Flexible working hours and a work from home policy.
- Occasional travel may be required.
