Zusammenfassung

eleQtron is seeking an Ion Trap Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team developing trapped-ion quantum computers. You will operate hardware, run and apply experiments, and contribute to hands-on R&D across physics and engineering disciplines.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s or PhD with AMO experience, fluent English, and a collaborative mindset for an international, interdisciplinary environment.

Qualifikationen

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or related field; or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Experience in AMO physics experiments including lasers, laser cooling, spectroscopy, optics, microwaves and vacuum systems.
  • Knowledge in photonics, linear/nonlinear optics, high-frequency electronics, cryogenics, ultra-high vacuum, opto-electronics, or electrodynamics.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

  • Operate quantum computers based on trapped ions.

eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability. Our unique approach combines laser-cooled trapped ions with microwave control and tailored magnetic fields. Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future.

Responsibilities

As an Ion Trap Engineer (f/m/d), you will be part of a team with a mission to develop, set up and operate our trapped-ion quantum computers and relevant test devices. You will collaborate closely with our international team of physicists and engineers from different disciplines. Depending on your level of experience, you will work on one or more of the following tasks:

  • Operate our quantum computers based on trapped ions

  • Perform experiments in a laboratory environment and apply the results to the development of a mature product

  • Assemble ion trap quantum computer hardware

  • Characterize ion trap quantum computers with state-of-the-art experiments and measurement techniques in a laboratory environment

  • Analyze and optimize the performance of our quantum computers

  • Participate in hands‑on R&D work

Requirements
Required Skills
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Physical Chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience

  • Experience in AMO physics experiments, including lasers, laser cooling, laser spectroscopy, optics, microwaves, and vacuum systems

  • Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: photonics, linear and nonlinear optics, high‑frequency electronics, cryogenics, ultra‑high vacuum systems, opto‑electronics, and electrodynamics

  • Fluent written and spoken English skills

  • Creative, collaborative, and comfortable working in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams
