Overview

Our client is a global private equity investor with more than $50 billion in assets under management and a strong presence across Europe and North America. The European LBO team is an active investor in the mid-market, focusing on buyouts and growth-oriented investments across sectors such as business services, healthcare, industrials, and consumer. With a proven track record of driving value creation through operational improvement, strategic repositioning, and bolt-on acquisitions, the firm has established itself as a trusted partner for entrepreneurs and management teams.

The Hamburg office plays a central role in executing the European LBO strategy, sourcing new transactions in the DACH region and supporting portfolio companies with transformation initiatives. Typical equity ticket sizes range from €50 million to €250 million, with flexibility to pursue both control buyouts and select growth transactions. The team is now seeking to expand with the hire of an Investment Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deal origination and evaluation: support sourcing and screening of mid-market buyout opportunities across the DACH region and Europe.
  • Due diligence and execution: lead financial modelling, valuations, industry research, and transaction structuring; coordinate workstreams across advisors and internal teams
  • Portfolio management: actively support value creation initiatives, including operational improvement projects, M&A execution, and strategic repositioning of portfolio companies
  • Team collaboration: work closely with senior professionals on both new transactions and portfolio oversight, contributing to the broader growth of the European LBO platform
Candidate Requirements
  • 3–5 years of professional experience, ideally from top-tier management consulting firms, PE practice.
  • Proven analytical and execution skills, with strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities
  • Experience working on complex transactions with exposure to due diligence and deal processes
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Native or fluent German, combined with professional-level English; additional European languages a plus
Opportunity
  • Join a global private equity platform with significant capital to deploy in the European mid-market
  • Exposure to high-impact transactions with equity tickets in the €50–250 million range
  • Hands-on involvement across the full investment cycle, from origination to portfolio value creation
  • Career progression within a growing European team backed by a global organisation
