Join us as an Investment Analyst at the ECBF, where you\'ll play a crucial role in building our investment portfolio in the European bioeconomy and biobased circular economy sectors. From day one, you\'ll be immersed in a range of crucial tasks, gradually taking on responsibilities that include:

Deal Sourcing & Market Research:

  • Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities.
  • Assist in managing and prioritising deal flow.
  • Conduct market mapping, competitive benchmarking, and thematic research.

Investment Analysis:

  • Perform financial modelling, valuation, and scenario analyses.
  • Support due diligence across technical, financial, and strategic areas.
  • Prepare investment memos and presentations for the investment committee.

Internal collaboration

  • Work with portfolio companies to track KPIs and performance.
  • Assist with strategic projects, fundraising, and business development initiatives.
  • Support partners, investment directors and associates in deal execution.
  • Contribute to thought leadership by developing sector insights and reports.
That´s why you´re a good fit for us!
  • You are a self-motivated personality who thrives on researching both technical and financial matters. A hunting instinct for sourcing and identifying attractive investment opportunities is part of your DNA.
  • You preferably bring 2–3 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, consulting, or investment banking, and/or you hold an MBA with exposure to venture investing.
  • A STEM background (natural sciences, chemistry, life sciences, engineering) is an advantage, though not required. If you do not have this background, you demonstrate the motivation and capability to quickly learn about complex themes in the bioeconomy.
  • You combine sound judgment with a willingness to challenge assumptions and learn from others, enabling both personal growth and team success.
  • You are used to working independently, taking initiative, and thriving in a collaborative environment.
  • Fluent English is a must; an additional European language is a strong plus.
  • You are highly proficient with MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and can use them with ease.
