adidas is offering an internship in Material Development – Performance Apparel at its Herzogenaurach headquarters. You will support the materials development team in creating new materials, presenting findings, and maintaining material libraries while contributing to sustainability initiatives and innovative projects.

Ideal candidates are enrolled full-time in textile-related studies, fluent in English, and prepared to relocate for the six-month program.

• Willingness to relocate to Herzogenaurach, Germany for the internship.

• Assist the materials development team in daily work such as developing new materials with suppliers, researching new materials technologies, and preparing material presentations.
• Create material boards and maintain the fabric library, as well as support ongoing projects and own initiatives.
• Contribute to sustainability projects and innovations in materials.

In our Materials Development team we take care of various business categories, and we work very closely with our cross-functional partners such as design, costing, sourcing and the suppliers to develop seasonal newness in fabrics, trims and all over prints. GROW YOUR CAPABILITIES THROUGH MEANINGFUL TASKS & PROJECTS

• Get to know and support the responsibilities of an apparel materials developer at adidas
• Assist the material development team in daily business such as developing new material with our suppliers, researching on new and existing materials technologies, preparing of material presentations, but as well with administrative tasks like creating material boards, maintaining the fabric library, etc.
• Support the materials development team on current projects and own individual projects as assigned
• Support innovation projects and initiatives in the area of sustainable materials

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU A MATCH

• Student of Textile Engineering, Textile Management, Textile Technology, Materials or similar
• Fluent English language skills (written & spoken)
• Strong MS office skills
• Ideally knowledge of graphic programs such as Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
• Good textile technology skills; basic understanding of materials and costing
• Interest in sustainability
• Highly motivated team player who enjoys working in an international team

ELIGIBILITY

• Enrolled as full-time student for the complete duration of the internship
• Or in the so-called gap year between Bachelor and Master’s degree (gap year regulation only applicable to EU citizens due to working permit regulations)
• Candidates in penultimate year of study preferred (following the internship, students should have maximum one year to graduate)
• Availability for the full duration of the internship from March 2027 – August 2027
• Ability to relocate to Herzogenaurach in Germany for the full duration of the internship
