Job summary

ZEISS Corporate Research offers an internship focused on human–machine interaction, eye-tracking, and prototype development. You will build and test concepts using modern hardware and software tools, while conducting user studies to evaluate interfaces and interactions.

You will work with PhD-level experts in a collaborative, innovative research environment, with flexible two remote-days per week and an option to continue with a master’s thesis after the internship.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in CS/HCI/EE or related field.
• Strong prototyping and hands-on experimentation with new tech.
• Solid programming skills in Python, C++, and/or C#.
• Interest in HCI, eye tracking, UX, sensors, XR, or data analysis.
• Strong English communication; German is a plus.

As part of our interdisciplinary team of scientists and research engineers, you will work on next-generation interaction concepts involving eye tracking, novel user interfaces, advanced sensors, and emerging hardware platforms. Together, we develop and evaluate technologies that can influence future ZEISS products in medical technology, industry, and beyond.

Your Role

Your Profile

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Electrical Engineering, Media Informatics, or a related field
• Enjoy building prototypes, experimenting with new technologies, and turning ideas into working systems
• Solid programming skills, for example in Python, C++, C#, or a similar language
• Experience or a strong interest in one or more of the following areas: Human-Computer Interaction, eye tracking, UX, sensors and hardware prototyping, computer vision, XR or spatial computing, user studies, or data analysis
• Proactive, curious, and passionate about solving challenging problems
• Effective communication in English; German is a plus
