Job summary

Analysys Mason invites driven students or recent graduates to join a hands-on internship in private equity transaction and strategy consulting in Munich. You will contribute to real client projects, support sell-side and buy-side work, and gain exposure to market analyses, project management, and expert interviews.

You will work closely with senior consultants, receive onboarding, and participate in workshops, client meetings, and internal coordination.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a student or recently graduated in business, engineering, natural sciences, technology or a comparable field of study.
• Interest in consulting, strategy, transaction, digital business models or market dynamics.
• Strong analytical skills, a structured way of working.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Internship lasting at least 4–6 months.
• Very good PowerPoint and Excel skills; very good written and spoken German and English.
• Internship experience through internships, working student roles or project work is a plus.

• Support European private-equity funds in the mid-to-lower-mid cap segment by creating commercial due diligence reports.
• Support consulting teams on strategy, transaction, market and competitor analysis and value creation.

What To Expect

Would you like to experience consulting beyond theory and contribute directly to real client projects? This internship offers you the opportunity to gain hands-on insights into strategic questions, market analyses, transaction topics and the day-to-day work of a consulting team.

As an intern in private equity transaction and strategy consulting, you will be closely involved and experience the entire consulting process of the pre-deal period first-hand. You will actively participate in projects and collaborate with experts from the specialist department. Your daily tasks will include researching and preparing the data and findings obtained, gaining insights into project management, and conducting expert interviews independently.

In addition to comprehensive professional onboarding, from day one you will gain deep insights into the consulting business particular in the private-equity industry.

YOUR TASKS

• Supporting renowned European private-equity funds in the mid-to-lower-lage-cap segment in the creation of commercial due diligence reports.
• You will support our consulting teams on challenging client projects in the areas of strategy, transaction, market and competitor analysis, and value creation.
• You will research and analyse markets, companies, business models, trends and relevant competitive environments.
• You will structure quantitative and qualitative information and derive initial insights and recommendations.
• You will contribute to the preparation of presentations, project materials, analyses and decision documents.
• You will support the preparation of workshops, client meetings and internal alignment sessions.
• You will work closely with experienced consultants and gain insights into project work, client communication and consulting approaches.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

• You are currently enrolled as a student or have recently graduated in business, engineering, natural sciences, technology or a comparable field of stud.
• You are interested in consulting, strategy, transaction, digital business models or market dynamics and would like to gain practical experience in a professional project environment.
• You have strong analytical skills, a structured way of working and enjoy translating complex questions into clear and understandable outputs.
• You work carefully, independently and collaboratively, and are motivated to quickly familiarise yourself with new topics.
• Ideally, you have already gained initial practical experience through internships, working student roles, student initiatives or relevant project work.
• You have very good Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills as well as very good written and spoken German and English.
• We'll introduce you to the complex world of management consulting and offer an internship lasting at least 4-6 months.
