Qualifikationen

Job Description: In order to support our composites engineering team, Airbus Operations is looking for a Internship “Development of a manufacturing concept for automated composite production” (d/f/m) Are you looking for an internship and want to get to know automated fibre placement technologies? • Location: Stade
• Start: As soon as possible
• Duration: 3 months

For CTC GmbH in Stade, we are looking for students for practical assignments (internships), bachelor and master theses. The CTC GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus Operations GmbH. CTC is Germany's leading centre for research and development in the field of design and production of large and complex CFRP components; with an international reputation as an expert for process development, series readiness and production optimisation. The focus of the CTC's work is the development of series technologies for the production and assembly of CFRP components in aircraft construction.

In the CTC, you can contribute to various projects in your area of focus and have a great deal of creative freedom.

Your location

You will be working at our research and development facilities in Stade. Next to the production site for civil and military aircraft components, CTC is located right between an industrial production environment, as well as a broad landscape of institutes within the CFK valley.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Process development for automated fibre placement and ultrasonic cutting for a specific part design
• Test Preparation & Execution: Preparation, execution, data processing, and presentation of experimental results.
• Component Design & Automation: Component design and automation programming via offline programming methods.
• Formulation of corresponding design rules and methodologies
• Regular professional exchange with colleagues in workshops and tech sessions
• Insight and adaptation of currently used technologies for fibre composite development in aerospace

Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled full‑time student (d/f/m) in the area of mechanical/ lightweight/ composites/ aerospace engineering; possibly software engineering or an equivalent field of study.
• First practical experience in the field of composite manufacturing and robotics
• First experiences in programming and CAE
• Ability to work independently and on your own responsibility
• High intrinsic motivation, teamwork and communication skills
• Entrepreneurial thinking and acting
• Willingness to pass on own competences in a team and to exchange skills with each other
• Fluent in English, German is desirable
