Job summary

BMW Group in Munich is seeking an Intern to contribute to LLM-enhanced in-vehicle personal assistants. You will write Python, explore LLM libraries, and support AK platforms across Android Automotive and cloud integrations.

You’ll also help plan user studies and validate concepts with prototypes in a collaborative research setting. The role emphasizes cross-language work, contributing innovative ideas, and strong English communication; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Studies in computer science, media informatics or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with Android development using Kotlin or Java.
• Knowledge and experience with Azure or other cloud platform deployments integrating with CI/CD tools like Git.
• Experience in developing large language models; experience with multimodal LLMs is a plus and experience with user-centered development and conducting user studies, ideally in voice user interfaces or automotive applications.
• Ability to collaborate in research and development teams, contributing innovative ideas.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus.

Responsibilities

Our team at the BMW Group develops innovative in-vehicle personal assistants using multimodal large language models. We explore how voice assistance and graphical user interfaces can work together to enhance the in-car user experience and create seamless Human-AI interaction.
