METRO is seeking a Drop Shipment Expert to optimize order processing and delivery operations. You will receive and process customer orders, monitor lifecycle, and provide proactive updates to customers.

You will coordinate transport, work with carriers, customers, and suppliers for on-time delivery, including export documentation for international shipments and collaboration across departments to improve service levels.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in SCM or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in wholesale, retail or FMCG.
• Hands-on experience with Transport Management System.
• Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 or equivalent).
• Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills are desirable.
• Fluent in English; additional European language is a plus.

Job Description

As a Drop Shipment Expert, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth order processing and delivery operations. Your responsibilities include receiving and processing customer orders accurately and efficiently. You'll be responsible for monitoring order status throughout the order life cycle and proactively communicating with customers regarding updates, delays, or any challenges that may arise.

In addition to order processing, you'll also coordinate logistics, working closely with carriers, customers, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders in the expected quality and quantity. This involves planning transportation routes, coordinating with external customs experts for international shipments, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

20 h/week, up to 37.5 h/week during lecture free period possible

Responsibilities

• Receive and process customer orders, providing proactive communication regarding order updates and challenges
• Plan transport and collaborate with carriers, customers, and suppliers to ensure On-time & In-full delivery.
• Coordinate with external customs experts to facilitate efficient export documentation for international shipments
• Collaborate with other departments to monitor and improve supplier and carrier service levels
• Design and analyze analytics of order processing metrics, transportation performance, and service level, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement

Qualifications

• You have achieved University Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Engineering with focus on SCM or Logistics
• Your experience in comparable position in the Wholesale, Retail, or FMCG industries is at least 2 years long
• It is essential for you to have first-hand working experience with Transport management system
• You have working experience with top-tier ERP systems (Dynamics 365 or equivalent)
• Your advanced skills in MS Office programs, especially PowerPoint and Excel (Pivot tables; Macros) are desirable
• You are passionate about customer service and understand how it can transform businesses
• You are a team player and can successfully blend-in to international team environment
• Your strong and emphatic personality, coupled with excellent communication skills empower you to positively influence stakeholders involved in your daily activities
• Work in modern supply chain requires to cope with pressure and continuously prioritize – you are master of both
• You are fluent in English (vocal and written) and additional European language will be your advantage
