Job summary

IDEALworks GmbH is seeking a student-intern to help design and implement data pipelines, develop features for a scalable data platform, and build data lakes and databases. You will create robust APIs using FastAPI and work with AWS services to support data infrastructure.

You will contribute to data quality, reliability and documentation while collaborating with an experienced team in a dynamic, international environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completing studies in a relevant field (computer science, data engineering, data science, robotics).
• Proficiency in Python, Git and Docker.
• Working knowledge of SQL and databases; data processing fundamentals.

Role Responsibilities: What you will do

• Design and implement data pipelines that integrate data from robotics fleet management, CRM tools, and other business systems.
• Develop new features for our data platform, supporting data collection, processing, storage, and access.
• Create and maintain data lakes and databases that handle large volumes of data with diverse and evolving schemas.
• Build and maintain APIs and backend services using tools such as FastAPI to make data accessible across applications.
• Support data quality, reliability, and documentation, helping teams work with consistent and trustworthy data.
• Explore and work with AWS services to support our data infrastructure and workflows.

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

• You are at an advanced stage of your studies in computer science, data engineering, data science, robotics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, Git and Docker.
• Working knowledge of SQL and an understanding of databases and data processing fundamentals.
• An interest in building data systems and infrastructure, from integrating sources to making data available for different use cases.
• A proactive, problem-solving approach and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ideally, familiarity with FastAPI, AWS, & workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
